Design and modeling solar tree system 500 Wp for mobile phone charging station



Abstract.

This solar tree system (STS) is made of low-voltage solar panels and serves as a flexible and modern public infrastructure. Not only as a tourist attraction but also as an innovative energy source technology packed in a visually appealing package. This paper offers a design for a four-piece 500 Wp STS intended to serve as a mobile phone charging station. To account for DC conductors, calculations are performed to determine the capacity of solar panel components,solar charger controllers (SCCs), and batteries. An analysis supported by PVSyst software resulted in a solar panel tilt angle of 13° is selected and its performance tested with various shading ratios in this paper. Each STS contains ten units of 50 Wp, an SCC with a maximum current of 10 A, and three units of 12 V 200 Ah valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries with a conductor cross-sectional area of 1.5 m . At certain places, the STS can receive annual global irradiation of 1580kWh/m22
