Three Phase Current Monitoring System Using SCT013 Sensor And Internet-Of-Things Platform



Abstract.

Electrical energy is needed to support activities in the factory, such as for lighting, production machines and other manufacturing activities. Most of the monitoring is done by installing a measuring instrument on the electric panel, then the operator records the amount of electrical energy consumed by the factory. This method has drawbacks, in which to find out the monitoring value, an operator should go directly to the location where the measuring instrument is installed so that the result cannot be immediately known. Due to advancement of communication technology, electricity quantities such as voltage, current and electric power can be monitored remotely using a smartphone or accessed via a website. This paper describes a three-phase current monitoring system using the SCT013 sensor and an internet-of-things (IoT) platform. Three-phase current data is detected by such a sensor and then sent to the WeMos D1 ESP8266 module. An internet-ofthings platform called Antares is used to process that data in the form of electric current at each phase. Experimental results show that the Antares IoT platform can display data and their changes in real time. The average of current measurement error produced by this monitoring system compared to the standard current measuring instrument for each phase R, S, and T is 0.13 %, 0.49 %, and 0.76 %, respectively.
